The treatments, which include the use of traditional herbs and oils help heal current adverse conditions, promote rejuvenation of the body, mind and spirit and enhance optimal health benefits. Bringing together over 15 years of experience and knowledge, Vijaya provides each client with the opportunity to reach their ultimate healing potential. Currently Vijaya is the confounder and spiritual counselor of the Dhanvantari Ayurveda Center, a non-profit association church serving clients on the Monterey Peninsula, San Francisco and the East Bay of California and Tidewater, Virginia. A full-time private practice in Ayurveda encompasses guidance and direction in dietary requirements, herbal therapies, life-style changes, emotional and mental focuses, and spiritual understandings.
Vijaya graduated from the Ayurvedic Insitute in Albuquerque, New Mexico under the mentorship of Dr. Vasant Lad, a world-renowned Ayurvedic physician and spiritual teacher, and earned an M.A. degree in counseling psychology (Holistic Health emphasis) from JFK University. In 1995, he continued his studies with Dr. Lopsang Rapgay, an Ayurvedic physician, Tibetan Buddhist monk, and Jungian psychologist. He also instructs classes and workshops (including a graduate level course in Ayurveda) at JFK University and other learning centers. Because of his training and years of personal experience, Vijaya brings clarity of perception and compassion to his practice in alternative healing.
In 2000 Vijaya attended the Rishikesh Ayurvedic College in Rishikesh, India for comprehensive instruction and hands on work with Ayurvedic scholars and doctors from all over India. This valuable time with the masters added much knowledge to his practice.
